Welcome to Year 6!
Year 6 marks a special chapter in primary school—a year full of new challenges, exciting opportunities, and memorable achievements. As the final year before moving on to secondary school, it’s the perfect time to grow in confidence, take on new responsibilities, and become role models for the younger years.
This year, we’ll dive into captivating topics that stretch across time and continents. We’ll investigate evolution, discovering how animals and humans have changed and adapted through millions of years. We’ll explore the mystery of Stonehenge—how it was built, and why it continues to fascinate people today.
Our learning will also take us deep into the natural world as we study biomes—from scorching deserts to frozen tundras—uncovering how different ecosystems support life in incredible ways. And we’ll travel back to the world of Ancient Greece, where we’ll learn about powerful myths, remarkable inventions, and the birth of democracy.
Throughout the year, we’ll build on our skills in English and Maths, push our thinking in Science, and grow as confident, independent learners. Year 6 is a time to shine—through hard work, teamwork, and the courage to try new things—as we get ready for the exciting journey ahead.
